Some People May Ask

We are embarking on a very interesting music collaboration and philanthropic endeavor.
In the next few weeks, Sweet Crystal along with vocalist extraordinaire' Amy Heard (amysusanheard.posterous.com) will be releasing 4 different versions of a new song based on the heartfelt poem "Some People May Ask" by Mary Hamilton White.

Here are the words that inspired the music:

Some people may ask,
Where is God in this ache?
Where is God in heartbreak?
  Where is God in this?

Some people may say,
Where is God in this pain?

Where is God in my rain?
      Where is God in this?

But I know Lord, you are there,
Holding me through my every care.

Taking hearts we think will never mend.

And I know Lord, you see me,
  Sheltering me in every need.

Holding me closer than a friend.

Now I know that
I see God in this pain,
I see God through hard rain.

He is there for me.

And I know that
God is there through each ache.

God can care for heartbreak.
                He’ll take care of me.

Some people may ask
Where is God in this place?

Where is God and his grace?
  Where is God in this?

Some people may say
How can God see us here?

How can God see our tears?
  How is God in this?

But I know Lord, you are there,
Holding me through my every care,
Taking hearts we think will never mend.

And I know Lord, you see me,
Sheltering me in every need,
Holding me closer than a friend.

Now I know that
God sees me in this place,
God is here with his grace,
God is here in this.

And I know that
God is next to me here,
God can wipe away my tears,
 taking care of this.
I see God in this pain,
I see God through hard rain.

He is there for me.

And I know that
God is there through each ache.

God can care for heartbreak.

He’ll take care of me.

What makes it a philanthropic endeavor is that a portion of every sale, of every song download, of every paid performance of any of the versions will generate awareness and more importantly, funding for a shelter and woman's outreach facility called The Sparrow's Nest which is just one of the many ministries of the Cherry Street Mission in Toledo, Ohio (http://www.cherrystreetmission.org).

Interested? There's so much more to tell but in the meantime, make your way over to my SoundCloud page and give the first version a listen. Puts a smile on your heart as well as your ears, we're thinking.

Stay tuned for more on this groundbreaking project.
